You might al like to know that Scott is having trouble drawing. He hurt his hand drawing too much once and although it's now fully healed up he can't draw with it. You know how you get food poisoning off a food item you use to love and you can't eat it again because your brain won't let you any more? Subconcusly it knows that food made you ill and it won't let you eat it again and you'll puke it up if you try. Well apparently this also applies to other actions that hurt you. Scott's brain has made a link between drawing and pain so it won't let him. His right hand, while doing everything else fine, shakes when he puts pen to paper. He has got around this though by tricking his brain using a Wacom tablet.

Er, as a folk who has been on the verge of being seriously hurt for the rest of his life for 'drawing too much', I can tell you this is no joke.

I've been had problems with my left hand (yes, I'm a leftie) for four or five years by now. Back by then, my style was obsessively detailed, and thus, I'd spend up to 10 hours with my hand muscles tightly tensed, leaning against the drawing table. And, whan I mean 'hand muscles', I mean I had to keep a string of muscles and tendons running from my spine to my fingertips on a very precise position.

Okay, granted. But there's a big difference between the quality of your drawing and the quality of Scott Adams.' If Scott labors for ten hours at a time and those crappy Dilbert strips are the best he can come up with, that's pathetic. It's not a carefully crafted minimalist style like you find in many deceptively simple comics (like Peanuts); if you look at Adams' panel composition and bubble layout, you can very obviously see that he just plain can't draw.

Dilbert was passingly funny when it was new and Adams still had some creative spark for non-office humor. But then he realized where the money was coming from and it's been one long, tedious string of LOL WORK SUCKS jokes every since.

Not to totally veer the conversation or anything, but didn't someone on here mention that... Jim Davis, I think, the creator of "Garfield" drew his strips straight in ink? Just a thought, but maybe adopting the minimalistic style makes it easier to do things like that.

I would imagine, as well, it really speeds production tenfold.
