Found this while perusing the news this morning:

http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=televisionNews&storyID=4757965§ion=news

The relevant part is at the bottom:

And the untitled Scott project is a New York-set romance with wolflike creatures secretly living among normal city folks.

Anybody want to set up a betting pool to pick the elapsed time until the first fan fiction p0rn should this series get the green light?

Isn't that the premise of the anime Wolf's Rain?

"Kyra," a spinoff of the 2000 film "Pitch Black,"

whoa,

I don't care if vin diesels in it. The aliens from Pitch Black were really cool. I dont really see how they are making a series of it but...I will definatly check this out if they make it.

I think some of these SciFi Channel projects are like fan fiction already

LIke that Cube 2...I don't know who made it, it wasnt as good as the original and even while I was watching it I thought it came across just as 'pretty well done fan-fiction'. I also sometimes have trouble telling what is a project they are backing and what isnt. Like that Dagon movie they ran a year or two ago, I couldnt tell. Its probably the best HP Lovecraft movie ever made IMO

It's Sci-Fi. If it's any good, it'll be canceled before the first season is over; and if it's outright shit, it'll linger forever... like Richard Lewis.

Sounds more like cat people with wolf people instead.

Sci-Fi needs to be shaken down and their management beaten publicly with stun batons applied to the genitals. Cape Fear? In what way is that remotely science fiction?

Rule of thumb with them: anything that sucks will get the top 10% of advertising time. As in, forty-two commercials per hour all about the program they're hyping which in the end all those dumb enough to watch it will then wish they hadn't.

I dont know about that...Some of the stuff they do is pretty good.

I've often liked Lexx when I watch it (very rarely). And Henson's Farscape it seems is pretty popular also. This one also seems pretty good the few episodes I've seen of it.

Most of all tho, Dune and Children of Dune mini-series they did. They are having (or its over now?) that mini-series month, and a few days ago they ran Dune all day 11Am to 11PM. I ended up watching like 8 hours of it, the final segment of Dune and then all of Children of Dune, which I missed the first time around.

I take it those were more closely based on the books? I have to get around to reading them at some point, but while I think the original Dune movie was better in some ways this Sci-Fi channel one has its merits.

Plus, like I mentioned a while back, they played that Dagon movie which I was completely unaware of prior. (based on one my personal favorite stories by Lovecraft - Shadow over Innsmouth)

childern of dune, they combined with messiah and left out the non-husband, that is only important if they do anything beyond god emperor
