Well, I gotta give 'em credit. That was one of the most seamless internet pranks I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing.

hahaha

Oh hell yeah.

I've only checked back on this whole thing yesterday because I knew MFM was this weekend. Other than that I havent really been following it. Now all these people saying they knew it all along, I seen maybe 3 people suggest (at the time) the slight possibility this was a prank. And that was all posts dated 9/6. Even then the only thing that made them think that was some 'missing footage' or logical stuff from that short 1 minute video in the the hotel. I would actually say that little short WAS pretty believable.

Someone had mentioned that Andy Kaufman would be proud, definatly even though the scale of it is obviously much smaller.

Im just wondering when they started planning this ?

a LOT funnier than tv, I could say.

We've had it planned just about from the begginning. Things escalated for a week or so, then we all got ahold of each other and privately let one another know that things were cool, and all that, and that we should keep pretending until the "fight" at MFM, where we'd just come out and let everyone know it was a joke.

But, as with all furries, LJ kids, and.. other fags in general, with jokes, there are always the "assumed ass-ends" of the jokes. The bitter and cynical kids who think that the joke's on them, and everyone is laughing at them for giving support to people who weren't actually going to fight in the first place.

I thought it'd be a neat, funny idea, but apparently I'm getting a lot of hate-mail over it, from LJ kids saying that we "victimized" them, and had them rooting us on for something that was fake.

One LJ-kid email even went on for a few pages to explain an analogy that had something to do with comparing the MFM fight to "searching for the cure for cancer." I think his gayity has been confirmed.

Some people even took the liberty to let me know that they were removing me from their LJ friends list. I will not have this.

I'm going to go write a few paragraphs of an apology and post it on my LJ for the victims of this cruel, sick joke, just to let them know that I'm deeply sorry, and that I've been a total shithead for leading the innocents into the flame of "faked internet drama." I can't stand to be un-LJ-friended.

I've cut myself enough over losing my precious LJ-friends, and I love them all so much.

Well, on the first place, congrats for the prank, as I think it was brilliantly executed. I took a glance at the first thread, the one that originated everything, and, while I thought it was tremendously weird, I assumed it could be real, 'cause the web is full with weird things.

On the second place, don't worry about the whinners. People detest knowing they've been fooled. Things will be back to normal in a couple of weeks, and, if not, well, those people don't deserve being your friends.

What a sad ending. I really wanted to see Khyber (nerd guy, I hope I didn't mix up their names) get his ass kicked... by a man in a ninja outfit, no less. Pathetic, but funny.

I knew all along.

The guy taking the video was a proffessional videographer. I saw a site with some of his work. As soon as I saw that, I knew.

And no one else figured it out.

I'm sorry, but you should have known better. The whole shit-stirring drama where the self-promoting fools would stir up the coals, then let it cool - even for furries, this was a bad "Wag the Dog". The moment I saw Fredryk was involved, I felt confirmed, and even stated so (not sure where).

Congrats, you were deceived by the likes of the easter bunny... only, he's really there.

Still, now that I think about it. It's wickedly clever. Even though I actually wanted to see it happen. Not because it's 'teh furries' but because of every time I've seen 'ill kill u' in a forum, journal, email or chatroom.

Moral of the story: The internet lies and no physical violence will come to you because of it, no matter what! Or something.

Yeah, it is, for an internet prank. I was fooled. It didn't even cross my mind until I seen someone suggested it yesterday (9/6). Actually, if you look - MagKnightX and someone else here mentioned 'kaufmann' in the other thread about this fight (Internet Tough-guy) as early as 8/31 ..good call.

I think the main reason I believed this was for real was: A furry antagonizer (Scruggs) who wants to take his antics to a whole new level and a furry (Khyber) who thinks hes tough shit and decides to fight someone from internet...whats not to believe ? :) its a realistic scenario (IMO).

Also: people claiming they've been vicitimized by a prank...comparing it to cancer in any way... give me a fucking break. This was in no way, shape, or form, a malicious prank. In this case, I enjoyed being tricked.

Yes, I'll definately toss some kudos their way for pulling a P.T.Barnum on the internet, but there are some people who just can't take a joke.

Then there are some that don't like wasting their bandwidth.

Then there are some who think this is some form of spam or trolling the net.

Then there are some who have thin skins and need to rent a clue, because no one would sell them one.

Still sniffing around for the best, most choice over-reactions. Untill then...

So I assume we'll be expecting a "you got served, stop kissing ass" type of analogy combined with the ever-lovable nelson-laugh.

About if it was a joke or not, I never cared. When it was first linked here, I considered Scrugg's replies, not to mention the lj kids' counter-attacks painfully funny.

Yeah, we figured Scruggs' horribly sarcastic replies would set people off in the direction of a "joke" but people kept screaming for blood, so, eh, I guess we took advantage of it.

On a lighter note, my LJ-friends list is steadying out again. I think I can put the razors and sleeping pills away.
