I think it was a setup for the anti-climactic April Fools joke. Not the initial DOS attack, but the not paying for more bandwidth. From what I understand the actual monetary hit was nearly insignificant in and of itself...
Though I should probably let Mitch answer this, as I'm really just guessing.
EDIT: I believe in Mitch's ancient homeland they spell it "cheque". They may even pronounce it that way too as they are an odd, hobbit-like people. |

Never do that, I just instantly wolf it down as I get my hands on it. I think the explanation lies in the overuse of tabasco. Tastes great when it comes in but hurts like hell when it comes out. |
