There is a reason why I listed Barrie and NOT Disney: I wanted to depict what Peter Pan would look and act like in the present day, not in the turn of the century or in WWII time like in the two Disney movies.

That's a pretty odd claim, seeing as Gonterman's Peter Pan design there borrows more than heavily from Disney's version. Is Gonterman just totally shameless or does he suffer from KAK-like lack of sense of reality?

Yeah, basically you place cards and they create holograms. I think DaveyKins mostly drew inspiration from this pic. Only difference is I'm a collector of mainly Digimon cards, not YuGiOh cards.

Gonterman is fascinating. He's a human car accident, I simply can't look away. After getting home from work today, I decided to look into his life and times a bit more. First of all, I found his yahoo profile.

The man has the anti-midas touch. Everything he comes in contact with turns to utter shit- and spectacularly so. Lookit, his profile picture is (I guess) some kind of reference to people who pick on him (IE criticize his work, vile racism, tenuous grasp on the English language, etc) Baka, in Japanese, means something like "Idiot". At least, that's what I gathered from numerous subtitled anime. The character is the typical Gonter-clone. He would likely argue that this guy is WAY different because he's wearing a brown vest and old-person giant blu-blocker sunglasses. Or Michelangelo's Ninja Turtle mask, I'm not sure. Given, I can't validate this since all the characters he draws look identical. Men women, children, fox suit women, they all look like Gonterman's idealized self image.

So, in this picture, he's evidently a tough, no-nonsense...uh...Shop N' Save clerk...or something...looking to lay the smack down on all the idiots who don't understand how fucking cool he is. On one level, you have to look at him, smile, and shake your head and say "God, what a dork!" But he's actually a little scary. Here we have a man who at 32 years old wants to be called "Davey-kins". This is the sorta behavior you would assume comes with an adult diaper and safety helmet. And yet, there's so much coiled anger and violence in Gonterman. People who he decides are enemies get written up in his works, usually in some form of violent fantasy involving "Pulse Forse Guns" or "Bang Sticks" or God knows what other misspelled implements of distruction. Again, this stuff is his fantasy material, and while we all threaten violence at one time or another- I do it frequently in the drawings I post around here, but there's a difference between parody and...something else.. Daveykins assigns an absolute seriousness to his petty revenges. In his own warped reality, he GOT whoever it is back, and they KNOW not to mess with...ahem...Daveykins again.

I also perused his multiple blogs/diaries. They're entertaining largely due to his rants. Something is ALWAYS pissing this guy off, and in standard Gonterman fashion he seems to feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment through bitching. And of course, there's the irony, and to illustrate that I found this strange little rant about Disney and Michael Eisner. Childish anger! Misspellings! It's classic stuff! It's the first topic that gets me here, and it involves the latest little gem Michael Eisner wants to bleed dry, because he wants a Corporate-sponsored Harry Potter series: W.I.T.C.H. This series comes from Italy (It seems that Mikey Boy has outsourced creativity as well) and sets around a series of five girls who became a cross between the Power Rangers and the Sailor Senshi, with a little bit of mysticism involved, to defend earth against a series of extrademensional baddies because of regularly occurring rips reality.

Sounds like something I would make. Heck, it sounds like 'Planeswalker' only without the Card Game refrence. That was my beef against it even though I will buy the series, mainly because they have comic pages which style I want to incorporate into my own style.

So... let me get this straight. He (Gonterman) who hasn't had an original idea in his life, and has liberally ripped off most things Disney, has a "beef" that Disney (So he hints) has come dangerously close to ripping off his work. BUT, he's going to buy it anyway so he can rip it off. WTF kind of reasoning is that? I can't even fit that into a metaphore, because it defies all logic. Gonterman, if nothing else, is a totally new frontier of fucked-upness thus far uncharted.

Sigh...and that's about all I can take for now. I'm beginning see everyone wearing mullets and sailor suits...time to unplug.

I've been to Pontoon Beach, or rather, to the large man-made Horseshoe Lake. The "beach" is really just pebbly silt rather than sand. Besides, I always thought as a rule beach = ocean.
