Japan fails to surprise me. This is how I assumed their trains already looked.

Every time I discover something new about Japan, I lean a bit more to the train of thought that Truman dropped too few bombs on them.

I'm pretty sure that's Photoshopped, but I honestly would not be surprised if you were to tell me it's not.

I guess that's why we've dropped a hundred times as many nukes on ourselves.

Edit: I think it's photoshopped, one of the feet looks like it'd be in the street.

Slightly, kinda majorly, unrelated, but still in the general realm of the subject... Which would make a better bumper sticker for a Japanese import?

"As seen in Cal and Dliver"

or

"We don't crash, we kamikaze"

Ahahaha, neko-train. Good one Dogthing.

Stuff like that photoshop with the girl in it only make me wonder if there's stuff like that over there for real. Like, I know it's probably not, but with all of this hilarious crap people make up about it part of me can't help but wonder if there could be a small amount of truth to some of it.

See, I would be okay with the idea that the shape of the "ears" of the train made it safer to travel. And I'd also be okay with the idea of going through an upskirt tunnel. But I dont think it would be a suitable idea to bring someone like my girlfriend on a date, thinking she might ask if the scenic train ride was my favorite part of the date.

What do you mean "probably not"? Of course they have all that cutsey-ass shit in Japan! Everything in Japan is UBER KAWAII NEKO IDAHO BISHIE ^_^ Etcetera.
Even their toilets. A friend of mine went to Japan once and used a toilet with a Hello-Kitty shaped lid and accompanying flusher-handle.

Like all good parodies, it's only slightly exaggerated. Just think of the huge cartoon character-shaped floats used in some parades in both the US and Japan.

That is a really good photoshot btw

But it wouldn't surprise me to see something like this there. When i stepped off the airport in kyoto, the first thing i saw was a gigantic bronze statue of Astroboy on a big pedestal. They got goofy cartoom imagery everywhere.

The only thing i liked on tv there is the commercials, friggin bizarre/hilarious.

This just makes me uncontrollably giddy. I wonder how many public officials I'd have to bribe to get a big statue of Astroboy put up at the capitol here? God knows we have plenty of statues of people completely unimportant to state history there already.
