Read the second question of their FAQ:

http://www.kkk.bz/index1.htm

Now, read anthrocon's FAQ:

http://www.anthrocon.org/info.cgi/about

Reflect upon the difference.

Anthrocon is a Pennsylvania-incorporated 501(c)7 not-for-profit organization. It is overseen by a board of directors chaired by Dr. Samuel Conway, a scientist, author and entertainer known in the anthropomorphics world as "Uncle Kage." The remainder of the board are:

John "K.P." Cole
Brian Harris
Karl "Xydexx" Jorgensen
Peter Kappesser
Kevin Kelm
Phaedra "Wyldekyttin" Meyer
Douglas Muth (Giza)
Tigerwolf (George Nemeyer)
Phillip Pollard

Wait... these people have a not-for-profit going? Who does it benefit, themselves?

NOoooooooooooooooooooooooo!

EDIT: I object to this whole "educate the public" bullshit. Come on, we know the real reason anyone would go to these things. I simply cannot take an organization seriously with Xydexx and Tigerwolf on its board of directors, least of all one that panders to adult hambeasts with bad facial hair that prance around in fursuits.

Er, Guido's quote is from Anthropomorphic Arts and Education, Inc. - which AFAIK has fuckall to do with Anthrocon. There certainly is no overlap in the staff. So I don't know what Guido's trying to say here. What are you trying to say, Guido?

That said, the idea of "educating the public" about this is indeed bullshit.

Oh whoops, you are right. They run Further Confusion, not Anthrocon.

Actually I've done some more digging and Anthrocon is registered as a not-for-profit 501(c)7 "Social Club", like the the Shriners or the Hells Angels and most other furry conventions. AAE is registered as a 501(c)3 nonprofit, a tax deductable certification reserved for charity and anti-discrimination type groups. As far as I know they're the only furry group with this distinction.
