I find myself in a similar situation, minus the "pervert" component. I used to be horribly afraid of even a picture of a corpse. Now I don't even bat an eye at stuff like those German cannibal pictures, and I went to see the Body Worlds exhibit when it came to LA and enjoyed it, even though basically it's a bunch of propped-up and posed dead people.

Part of the reason why I look at that crap is that it's a way of proving to myself that I still have human feelings. Occasionally I do see something that really bothers me, and then I feel a bit better, because it means I haven't become completely and utterly jaded.

On the flip side, reading the uncensored thoughts of internet males has sent my self-esteem straight into the toilet, and basically turned me into a raging misandrist. It's pathetic and sad that I've internalized this stuff so much; I wish I knew how to fix it.

I think the saddest part of this cartoon from donny was how many on the Nazi_fur and VCL_Horrors don't get the punchline. They think the kid answering 'yiff' is the joke, because non-furries take the "HAHA DUMB YIFFY KID" part as the punchline, and the furries just like it because it touches their fetishes.

So just for everyone's sake, the punchline is the fact that to 'punish' him, she makes him wear a hat with ears. I can't believe how few in those LJ groups seem to get that, especially with that being the only English line!

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that one of the Nazi propaganda books for the kiddies back then was titled along the lines of 'Never trust a fox, and especially not a jew!' Funny how they depicted the jews as troll-like goblins while all the german kids looked like blow-up pedo dolls or something like that. Disturbing. My history teacher back in Elementary had a copy of that book...

Funny thing is, I am biligual in German as well, but not my wife. This morning the alarm clock went off and I muttered in that half-dreaming still REM'ing state "Shalt die sheiss uhr aus!", which means literally, "Turn off that shitty clock!". Some languages translated too literally to English lose their meaning somewhat because of the different slang and stuff.

After which my wife replied "WTF?".

Hehehe...I said "bi"...

I swore I wouldn't touch this thread after getting yelled at, but fuck it.

You can say anything to a English-only speaking person and make it sound like a swear in another langauge. For instance, exclaiming real loud in a pissed off tone "Ich will sie kartoffel haben!/I want the potatos!" will sound like the worst demon-raising german swear to an American.

Hehehe...I said "butt fuck"...
