Putting up Christmas lights, be it before, during, or immediately after Thanksgiving.
WTF people? For the sake of protecting public safety and private property, quit making the rest of the neighborhood look bad! |

There's a house down the road that had their shrine to Christmas erected yesterday. Thanksgiving wasn't even over, and there were light-up reindeer all over their yard. Are people afraid of others questioning their holiday cheer? If you don't have the lights out on the 24th of November, you hate Christmas?
Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, there's still a rotting pumpkin sitting on our front step. It may be there through New Years. |

Leaving the pumpkin out till it completely evaporates in the sun is an American tradition. God Bless... |

We still have our halloween decorations out. We're thinking of dressing up our hanging man up in a Santa suit. |

When someone takes the time to set up something as cool as this little display, I think I could forgive them. |

Eh, the store I work at has had Christmas crap since early October. No amount of earlyness gets to me. |

I think I would have to kill my neighbors if I lived next to that. |

I wouldn't mind having one of those hanging from one of my trees. |

The only way that could be better is if there was a cord of red chaser lights going from the body to the puddle.
I really hope there is one in there. |

Let me be the first(and possibly only) person to say this:
Fuck. You.
Christmas decorations are fun to look at and all, and it is nice to have them up, but not all of us are lucky enough to live somewhere we don't have to worry about the ground freezing over, or getting stuck trying to hang shit in a god damed blizzard. |

I have one house in my neighborhood which is owned by holiday decoration wholesalers, and EVERY damn holiday they put up a display so huge, cluttered and unsightly that you can't even tell there is a house beyond the small and flourescent front lawn. Disgraceful, really. I think thewy either sell or throw away the crap, because it seems like different decorations this christmas from last.
They just stick out like a sore thumb though, and one could propbably see their lawn from the ISS. |

HA! That's like the people down the street from me...they have this HUGE house, and every single Holiday (Easter, 4th of July, New Year's, Groundhog Day), they have a ton of stuff out on their house, roof, lawn, driveway, EVERYTHING. Come Christmastime, it looks like the 'Small World' ride from Disneyland threw up all over their house. It's like the damn house from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation...completley covered in lights, with animated displays, statues, giant inflatable reindeer, ect.
There's also a street around here that is completley engulfed in huge pine trees...so every year, the residents decorate ALL of the trees in lights and everything. It's really amazing, and it's now recognized as a California landmark, apparently. |

I actually like seeing well done light displays. However, most of the time you have the people who just appear to have thrown a string of coloured lights in a tree and plugged it in.
Of course, there's also such a thing as freaking gratuitous...

Well, I'm impressed. Not positively, but still.
The Wizards of Winter lights Lowkey posted, OTOH, are awesome. But I'm glad I don't live near them so I'd have to look at them all December IRL. |
