Correction, not just so many furries, but so many furries whom YOU are friends with. Hell, even Necco has an HMO icon. And to be fair, how is it any moreso a waste of money than paying for LJ in the first place?

I'm pretty sure this is only a subset of LJ retardery and not really furry-specific. It's not much different from rolling one's own icon from already-commissioned artwork, just lazier (thus more appealing).

What I want to know is, how long will it be before someone starts methodically swiping said commissioned icons, thus raising the hackles of both buyers and artists?
