Traces the long history of the belief that men could become wolves and rip apart their victims. Shocking recent cases are profiled as well as classics like Vacher the Ripper and the Monster of Florence. Psychologists debate the nature of the mental disorder responsible for werewolf killers.

OMFG! U slander wolves! Wolves are better than hyoomans! U R an omnispeciest racist!!!11
My favorite werewolf story is that of The Beast of Gevaudan which terrorized Southern France in the late 1700s. Apparently, when finally killed after claiming nearly 100 victims, the "wolf" was nearly 6 feet long and several hundred pounds. The body was stuffed and displayed, but as with all great monster stories, disappeared shortly thereafter so we may never know just what the creature was. |

Why the hell does feral behavior make them specifically 'werewolves'. Lots of animals are feral, wouldn't calling savage people 'weremonkeys' make more sense? According to that logic, if you happen to be in a parking lot, you must be a Ford... |

Fixation with wolves is hardly a new concept. Especially in Europe, they were the most readily identifiable violent predator in the wild. Sure, bears are scary too, but when you venture off into the woods alone, what do you most think about being eaten by? A pack of wolves. |

Five seconds after you posted this, someone somewhere set feverishly to work drawing a morph pinto wearing armor looking like scrap car parts, thinking of the sight of Groat thumbing through his wallet to buy the picture. Was this a completely unnecessary statement of a blazingly obvious concep or what? |

Why not a were-escort?
And my mind is still trying to figure out how to
describe a were-mustang, were-bronco, or a
were-five hundred. |

Does this qualify as a were-Viper?
I know, Vipers are by Chrysler and the stuff, but, never mind that. |

Nah, Groat would draw a picture of said werepinto, if some idiot offers him enough money to do it. |
