Didn't really know where to post this, as most forums I'm used to going to have "introduction forums" or something. Anyways, I've been a lurker here for some time, popping in and out occasionally to look at the posts, and I've also read many of the articles on the main CYD site.

I'm a furry, I guess. I have a "fursona," that of a rabbit, I draw both tame and adult pictures of anthropomorphic creatures (although admittedly, I don't delude myself into thinking my art is really any good, heh), the whole shebang. And yet... I agree with most of what everyone has to say here. Plenty of stuff about the fandom pisses me off and/or frightens me. Then again, I also don't actually believe myself to BE a rabbit for real when not online, so I suppose that means I'm not a "true" furry after all. Which is fine with me.

I'm not even really part of "the fandom" anymore, and when I was I was always just a hanger-on, the sort of weasely little fanboy who looked up to all the big furry artists.

Nowadays though, I just sort of subsist on the sidelines just outside the fandom itself, posting to places like DeviantArt and SheezyArt and occupying my time with other things than furry, but after stumbling across this site I decided I might as well come and join in on all the fun. Or whatever you all consider this to be. From what I've seen, this place is welcoming to both furries and nonfurries, so I hope I'll be accepted here, even though due to my lurker habits I may not post all that much.

I just registered here yesterday. I guess I could say I'm an "alternative-furry". Too many furries or what I like to call "the furry drama queens" are too damn serious about the whole furry thing, if you say bad things about furries you say bad things about them. It seems that most furries are also the type of people who act like stereotypical teenagers, "Why can't you understand me!".

I have many furry friends on the internet, most of them live here in Finland. Very few furries I have talked with that aren't finnish are usually creeps, I kinda ended talking with most of them after one of them send me pictures of his dick and started asking asking "How is it?".

I'm the type of furry that just acts like a normal sane person but I do like the furry art (unless it's some macro or unbirthing stuff). I also read lemons sometimes.

My "fursona" is a black dragon as you can see from my avatar, a few people have drawn pictures for me of my charecter, most of those pics are "yiffy".

Well I gotta stop writing now, gotta be on the bus-station in 5 minutes. I might write some more when I get back.

I think what finally turned me off towards the whole furry fandumb is the vast majority of furries that are "furry" 24/7, rarely if ever taking breaks from it, and honestly believe themselves to be their chosen animal - Or at least they enjoy giving that impression. After chatting with them for a few months, I began to realize they're monotonous in their activities, pretending it's a "lifestyle" when all it really is is a fetish. A kink. Something to get your jollies off to whenever you feel horny. I realized that, and got sick of my so-called "friends" living in denial of this fact.

I don't hate "hyoomans," I'm not gay (I'm bi with a girlfriend), and I happen to be into quite a lot of movies, games, and books that have little or nothing to do with anthro animals. In fact, aside from finding one or two cartoon characters attractive and getting my jollies off to some "yiffy" (God I hate that word) artwork, mostly that which is drawn by my girlfriend, and drawing some smutty artwork of my own, I really don't do anything particularly "furry-like," like, y'know, have fursuit sex. Or be a drama queen and try to "squick teh mundanes." Whatever the hell THAT means...

Sadly, there are folks like that in any group. Goths, and fantasy role-players can be like that, too. Even folks from religious groups can be like that. I think, however, the thing that bothers folks most about furries is they are sooo obvious about it and they just end up looking ultra absurd.

Like some of the other groups that have folks dressing up, there is an element in furrydom that sometimes manifests as self-hate. What I mean by that is that people never seem to be happy with who or what they really are so they have to make up this false persona and follow it to a T. Since furries are "animals" it is almost a statement that you can't deal with the human species.

I mean it was one thing when people were just trying to have fun (that was initially how furry initially started), but now that people out there are calling it a "life-style" is bs.
