Damn. I mean, I stopped watching CSI after about half of the second season. This is in my opinion what happens to all crime shows sooner or later - the writers just run out of steam and creativity and starts to get obsessed with "creative deaths", i.e. finding new never-before seen ways of killing people and even more impropable murder motives.

As much as I enjoy Case Closed (Detective Conan), I was commenting to my wife the other night that every single case involves a murderer who was motivated by revenge for some wrong the victim inflicted on them and the seemingly innocent victim always turns out to pretty much deserved their come-uppance.

When you watch the news and hear somebody got their head chopped off, or somebody drank the blood and used the toes to play pool with, chances are that was a white guy! An old lady kicked down the stairs for a welfare check? Black guy! "Gimme dat fo' dollah check!" Brothers' be in jail for the stupidest shit. White guy in jail: "Embezzling funds." Black guy, what are you in jail for: "Socks. Took me $48 worth a' socks! My feet was feelin' GOOD."

Donny: You wanna watch black people getting busted, watch Cops. But black people aren't crazy enough to make memorable television. So we go to crazy white people crime.

CSI's kinda like one of those low budget horror flicks where you watch 'cause you wanna see how messy the next kill is and how the killer does it.

I recently read that compared to the reality of violent crime in the United States, TV crime shows seriously overrepresents white women both as victims and perpetrators of violent crime, and also seriously underrepresents black males as victims and perpetrators.

You ever get the feeling that CSI is just running out of good ideas and has to resort to making episodes of a crime revolving arround fandoms and fetishes? "Fur and Loathing" murder within the furry fandom. "King Baby" murder within the infantilists.

Yes. All of the above, Im sure its only a matter of time. I just always assume if its on network tv - its shit. And Im rarely proven wrong :) If it werent for cable and focused programing I wouldnt bother with tv at all.

Which reminds me of an episode of Columbo (I think? Or maybe Diagnosis Murder with Dick Van Dyke?) where somebody tried to kill Mr. Miyagi from The Karate Kid by lacing a napkin with peanut oil (he's alergic you see). Veeeery clever.

Take two sips every time they state "I was scared" as a reason for running.

Take an additional sip once the reason they were "scared" becomes obvious when they find about half of all of the coke in Columbia in their backpack.

Take an additional sip when they insist the backpack is theirs, but the coke isn't.

Take a full shots when they respond "I don't know" when asked how coke that's not theirs got into their backpack in their car.

Not to sound bigoted, but the African American suspects are some of the funniest when they get busted with drugs or a gun or something. They are some of the worst liars. The whites usually get beligerent when trying to cover up. The Mexicans typically seem to almost get sleepy or claim they know less English than they do. The blacks on the show, however, always seem to overact worse than William Shatner when feigning innocence.
