Yep. The guys from Malice Mizer are hot. I haven't actually heard much of their music, but I thought the video for Gekka no Yasoukyoku was pretty damn cool.

Actually,compared to the usual phurri/anime costumes...fairly well made costume...it sort of reminds me of something I saw in a regular ol' rubber fetish/sexy costume 'zine..(late 70s early 80s circa) it was your classic rubber-dominatrix out fit,but it was a chap wearing the outfit ,wit a Rubber Jane Mansfield over the head mask...I guess if your'e gonna' do "drag"...go for the over the top effect....Gahd alone knows if the Japanese dude doing this character is a furry or not...Jah help us if he's a "PHURRI"....I think I'm going out for a beer,or stay home and hide in the cellar(Jer)

Nothing wrong with dressing up for the heck of it once in a while, or doing it regularly if you work as a mascot or what-have-you... but judging from the innumerable photos, this person seems to do it a lot, and just to be the arrogant armchair psychologist here, I'd say that's not a sign that he's comfortable with himself. it's some sort of safe exhibitionism where he shows off something else but himself.

A thought:

One advantage that Kigurumi presents over conventional cross-dressing is the fact that just like most fursuits, the identity of the person is completely concealed. Therefore, if you happen to be in Osaka and see a person dressed like a character from Tokyo Mew Mew complete with Kigurumi mask, you're going to have a hard time identifying the person underneath.

Kigurumi provides the anonymity that prevents normal inhibition of regular ol' crossdressing. After all, who wants to dress up like Lum only to be recognized in public by someone else you know?

Also note: in Japan, the word Kigurumi is also the word for fursuiting.
