Hey, post your backgrounds. Or screenshots. Or pictures of a lamp. Your choice!

Here's my computer desktop background. I've forgotten where I found it, but it's been one of those files that sticks around forever. It's also great to stare at after having smoked some trees.

As for me, I use some random image I found on 4chan. Somone commented on it being Hentai/Ecchi I think. *shrug*

It's from Zdzislaw Beksinski, the greatest living (well, untill he got murdered a month or so ago) Polish artist.

Actually, untill just a few days a go, I was using this still from the Brothers Quay movie, Street of Crocodiles, which is pretty much a 20-minute-long Tool music video, minus the Tool.

Whoa, thanks for showing me that, it has a surreal Giger feel to it, but's slightly more dreamlike, slightly less mechanical. I love it; I'd change my desktop now if I could find a large enough image. Zdzislaw Beksinski seems to use a lot of biblical images, a lot of crucifix and halos.

Incompetent? What? Firefox is faster, more stable and more secure than IE ever was for me. I got fed up with IE because the constant freezing and because I kept getting adware. IE is just plain shitty.

Edit: Urban Dictionary for the win.

I love Firefox greatly because of the tabs. Saves me from endless unessary trips to the taskbar. I surf faster, I can copy image locations just like in Netscape. There's just too much not to love. The tabs also make viewing adult furry art far easier.

If you're feeling up to it you can do this to speed up Firefox loading.. people always bitch at me that my IP will get blocked because it's making multiple connections (requests really) to the server (which it's not technically but who cares, it goes FAST >:P) - but I never had problems so far.

For BROADBAND only:

1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
# network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining
# network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:
# Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
# Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
# Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

Adblock is the shit too, blocks Flash ads

Well obviously I missed wherever this was noted, mister sassy britches. You could have left me alone in my magical little discovery but you had to go and burst my happy bubble. :(

I refuse to believe Beksinski was murdered by a human being, it just seems to go against everything I picture whenever I hear his name. I prefer to believe that one of the things he painted/drew came to life, escaped the canvas, and murdered him before it ran off shrieking into the night.

But back in reality, has there been anymore word yet on the guy who killed him? I heard a story that it was the son of one of the guys renovating his house that killed him, but nothing else since.

The late 1990s were a very trying time for Beksiński. His wife, Zofia, died in 1998, and a year later, on Christmas Eve 1999, his son Tomasz (a popular music journalist and movie translator) commited suicide. It was Beksiński who discovered his son's body. Unable to come to terms with his son's death, he kept an envelope "For Tomek in case I kick the bucket" pinned to his wall.

On 22 February 2005 he was found dead in his flat in Warsaw with 17 stab wounds on his body, two of which were fatal. The teenage son of his long time caretaker and a friend were arrested shortly after the crime. It is known that Beksinski had recently refused a loan to the young man.

Oh god...for once I was being completely innocent, no double entendres intended, and I ended up inadvertantly writing one of the dirtiest-sounding posts that I've ever made...O.o

But seriously, that is the name of the guy with the glasses. I knew I shoud've just said Trevor instead of Mr. Horn. ;P

And I'm NOT going to reveal his pet name here.XD Actually, I should say *my* pet name, since I was the one named it. O.O

I swear, that looks like a view across the narrow part of Pyramid Lake. Minus the pyramid.

Now that's a mysterious lake.

It's not your fault, I blaim myself. I can find and point out double entendre in almost anything. I don't remember what they were, but I've even found TRIPLE entendre before :D

Well, first you take your scanner, then you hold it vertically to the...

Actually the Print Screen key will copy whatever is on your screen to the clipboard. You can then paste it into any paint/image program.

Looking at your keyboard, off to the right side, the very top just after the F1-F12 keys you should see three keys called Print Screen/SysRq, Scroll Lock, and Pause Break. The one you want is PRINT SCREEN.

Print Screen works just like the paste command, but instead of copying just a selected item, it takes a snapshot of whatever is on your monitor at that moment. Press the button then, you paste it normally into Photoshop or even just plain old MS Paint and save it as a Jpg, gif, whatever. That's all. It's just copying and pasting the contents of your screen.

I usually rotate about a dozen or so around, depending on how I feel. That's the one that seems to stay up the longest.
