That rude rascal Hobart Starr manages to come to the notice of the fandom at large with the latest incarnation of his Immorakaki site here (NSFW), which features a couple of Oekaki riffs on some of RH Junior's characters.... which inspires Ralph to a couple of impassioned posts about copyright here and here.

...the artist in question is a small time penny-ante freelancer...

But it seems Hobart's done far worse than possibly violate copyrights....

There is also another reason to have the site shut down.

I've been told that appearently someone has been posting pics there of
Tabatha from "Sabrina Online" of an inapropriate nature. If it's true, I
think that it now falls under child pr*n in criminal law and that will get
it dropped by the server provider faster than you can say "John Henry".

And here we have some more fans getting all worked up about it and ferreting out his host's details and generally freaking out.

I could only imagine Mark's reaction as being similar to being told that your child has been molested. I believe that the rest of you think similarly that we are family here. And Florence has been treated badly. You can't undo a violation like this. I hope Mark can get some kind of swift action about taking liberties with Florence.

The impression I'm getting here is that the "phurrae kommunitee" only gets upset about alleged "child pr*n" when it ambiguously involves some form of copyright violation.

Otherwise, it's "just a harmless graphic image".

On one hand, pornofication of anything and everything is what happens on the net, so yeah. It was only a matter of time before it happened to Hayes.

On the other hand, I'd like to be surprised that someone's pornofied some of Hayes' characters. His Nip and Tuck is one of the lamest comics I've ever come across... I never managed to read more than a handful of strips. Why anyone would want to draw porn relating to that is beyond me. Also, I'd assume it was so bloody obscure as to be safe from pornofication.

Then again, we are talking about something with a furry context. So: anything remotely furry that isn't porn... will be someday.

I did! There was nothing Freefall related on Hobart's site and I know HE wouldn't have deleted whatever was there. Doesn't really matter as it did what it was meant to do and pissed off the bunch of useless loads that frequent that forum.
