You think inbetween rounds of masterbating, people would be too tired to create pointless drama, but nooooo. Just thought I'd drag in news of pointless drama that was even more avoidable then our own.
Arcturus looks like a cross between Ritchie Cunningham and a drag queen.
His T-Shirt is perhaps the most lamest T-Shirt I've seen.
Also, the comments are pretty usual for furries. But, Christ, why can't furries have a proper conversation without rambling on about how they'd like to fuck each other up the arse?

It is with the deepest of regrets, that I have to announce that I am quitting my administrative position with FurAffinity. Incase this news post is deleted, I will copy it to my LiveJournal, at After many disagreements with Jheryn about how FurAffinity is run, the appointment of staff and such, I have decided to withdraw my support. I've put a lot of time, money and effort, and to see that Jheryn wants to wreck it.. is almost heartbreaking for me. But, I cannot continue to pay for FurAffinity, if things continue like this. I would be wasting my money.
So, to you, our 12,174 users, I apologise, profusely, for having to do this.. but I feel I must. FurAffinity will remain live on this server, until the 1st of August, when it will be terminated.
And thank you, everyone, for the wonderful time I have had here, at FA.

As common as this behavior is among furries, I'm surprised fewer furry sites cave in like this. It's not enough to merely have a disagreement over site management, Arcturus has to vent his anger in the most dramatic way possible. He can't just leave, he has to take the entire site with him! See, now he can turn the entire userbase against this other guy by making it ALL HIS FAULT Furaffinity went down.
It's like watching kindergardners having a tantrum over who gets to play in the sandbox. One kid gets mad and storms off, and he takes the dumptruck with him.

Where to, now? Back to furnation or the VCL and their restrictive policies (no illegal porn allowed)? Or perhaps back to fchan before admins get tired and ban it from their site like they did on deviantart and sheezyart (if I'm not wrong)?

It's a proven fact furries weaken and eventually die when removed from sources of drama and requests for anal sex. They will try to form such environments whenever possible, and when it proves difficult to do so, many will retreat to more confining spaces (under rocks, on Geocities, and so forth).
That is, the ability to post comments and 'blog' with their porn is important to furries. Which is why SA and FA were formed. DA style software is easy enough to throw together, so it'll only be a matter of time - YayWhee was a hot project up through January, might catch its second breath now that a new porn repository is suddenly in demand. Ex-FA server wank is putting together Art Fu, which promises to be popular among furries unable to learn lessons. VCL/PureYiff/myriad other gallery sites won't work without friends lists and comment features, FurNation/FurCen/etc. likely won't provide support for them either. I can see the more disillusioned artists reverting to old style personal web pages, while the drama queens will either stop drawing or go back to DA - and keep their porn elsewhere.
At least until the next Sheezy comes along.
Edit: The funny thing about FA is that it shows furries don't need outside influences. They'll freak out, break stuff, and cry perfectly fine without help. Wow, this makes the 'fursecution' just about redundant! The drama on FA's front page has nothing on the drama in their community. And Vitae's waaah give me attention furries is classic.

Actually this has surprised me also. The average furry is a sociopath (ether intentionally or otherwise) so if they can't get along with normal people, how can a group of them possibly last long enough to do ANYTHING? My theory is that they know that they HAVE to get along with other furries because nobody else will like them, but they can't keep this act up for very long. It's only a matter of time before their egos barge in and take over and a retarded pissing contest ensues. Of course this then gets to the point where at least one furry pulls out their favourite attack. The oh-so-popular "it's my ball, and I'm going to take it away if you don't let me win!" tactic.

No, wait, I see the germ of something truly wonderful there. CYD becomes a repository of furry porn, but at the same time it means the smutheads will have no choice but to run the gauntlet through here. Imagine the conflict of pride and horniness some of them will have to go through. Need porn...hate CYD...need porn...hate CYD...
I dunno, too much? It would mean a lot more drama on the boards than anybody really wants. Still the dilemma is too delicious not to at least think about.
Although I KNOW damn well it won't happen, I'd like to believe this will benefit the fandom. I'd really like to see all the 'free furry smut' hosts go down. If artists had to actually pay for a hosting plan somewhere, I'd like to believe they'd use their space and bandwidth more wisely, ie, by developing their skills and only posting quality artwork.
But I know that's just a pipe dream. VCL will always be around, and unless Ch'marr wipes out the entire /Artists directory and institutes some quality control, we'll continue to see tons of crap uploaded every day, and communities like vcl_horrors continue to find new content to poke fun at.

I can't help but to think this is a whiney artist thing. VCL laste because they have bare-bones minimum rules, and those who have such big egos that they rage against those rules... just are dropped. dA is a good bit stricter, but at the same time allows crap, just not crap smut.
I think as long as furries identify with young asshole artists, they will have the Sheezyart bannings, the FA nightmares and the VCL/dA horrors/crap.
Newsflash, just because you can draw, that doesn't mean your shit smells like roses.

i think they won't get along with anyone beacouse they're really raven-dragon-skunk-wolves in their spirit, but no one belives them.
i would be pissed too if i'd be a raven-dragon-bear-skunk-octopus-wolf in my spirit and the damn mundanes won't give me the respect i REALLY deserve!
