There's a new furry info site up: WikiFur. As the name tells, it's one of those freely-editable encyclopaedias, this one specifically for "the furry community". Seeing as everyone and his dog can make and edit wiki pages, and seeing as this is a furry project, there should be opportunity for drama a-plenty here. For instance: there's an article on Sibe. Anyhow, most of the articles I bothered to randomly check out are short and low on info so far, but that may change.
It seems to me that blogs are so last year, so wikis are what it's about now. Yeah, I know the concept's been around for a while, but these days, everyone's got a wiki. :roll:

Dude, the last paragraph in the (current version of the) CYD entry is bollocks. Not that it bothers me what a furry info site says about CYD, but shouldn't the entry at least be informative?
While the founding concept of CYD is the exercise of freedom of speech among like-minded individuals who share a sense of exasperation at the fandom's more bizarre features, it has also become associated with individuals with a more militant and childish attitude who occasionally commit acts of vandalism against furry online resources. This has led some to unjustly associate CYD with these actions, even though the forum's management explicitly deprecates such behaviour.
What's the bit about "exercise of freedom of speech" supposed to mean? Everything on the net is an exercise in freedom of speech. It signifies nothing.
And what's with the "individuals <...> who occasionally commit acts of vandalism against furry online resources" assertion? How does one vandalise online other than by hacking or making attacks designed to take a site down? And who are these individuals? Also, "associated with" is very vague - what is it supposed to mean? Mitch is the one guy who runs CYD; he doesn't vandalize anything. As for the CYD forum - I've been a regular here for a year and a half, and while we've had visits from a few very weird people, no one has done any "vandalism" on behalf of CYD. IIRC, there's been one incident where some guy contacted she who may not be mentioned with malicious intent and posted the results here - and he was swiftly banned.

ALso, Encyclopedia Dramatica is one of the best wikis ever, and their wikifur article only serves to enchance their awesomness.

100% pure non-bias is impossible. Especially on the internet, which is composed largely of opinionated blowhards who can't be bothered to hear about opinions other then their own, much less understand them.
I don't bother with trying to be actually helpful on wikis, because you'll run around in circles trying to satisfy people who will always feel "Well, that's a good article... but MY definitions are better!" and if you change it back, you end up causing drama "OMG UR ARTICLE ISN'T ACCURATE WTFBBQ" and then we end up with edit wars.
Just be super-offensive and make everyone mad. You can't win anyways, so take 'em all with you.

Now, what I want to know is if they'll have an entry about Encyclopedia Dramatica.
The thing is: On the front page, it describes WikiFur as being "a freely-editable encyclopaedia for the furry community." I don't know how we can serve the furry community if we do so by drawing the attention of vandalism groups like ED/POE/SA, and allowing them to flourish when here. Almafeta 14:25, 24 Aug 2005 (UTC)

I'm mildly autistic and was in a satelite program while in highschool.
I was easily the most adjusted person in the program and represented several firsts for the teachers over it (first student that finished with all my credits and failed no classes, I wanted to just go ahead and graduate early but decided to stick around for a semester of taking rediculously easy classes to pad my GPA) I met some really fucked up people in that program. That said I'm used to seeing people who just don't get that there are limits to what you can do and still be viewed normally. At least I didn't have to deal with emotionally stunted people parading their fetishes.
I really have no problem with what people do in their personal lives as long as they don't hurt anyone, but when you parade your personal life around and people give you odd looks and say "man that's weird" you deserve it.
You can't realistically call it persecution until people start busting into their homes or where ever it is they are doing this stuff and forcefully stop them.
Point is you can have sex in a fursuit or whatever else all you want but I can call that fucked up all I want to as well.

WikiFur has had a CYD entry since August 14th, although it's been rewritten a number of times since then. The present version actually seems pretty level-headed, even if it does put way too much weight on describing the CYD forum rather than the whole CYD site.
Wow. I love how wikis either make you sound like a monster or the coolest person ever who has accomplished so many things. Although, for some reason when I read those articles, I can't help but feel it's written in that Vh1 behind the music "Things were looking good, BUT THEN..." kind of writing style.
The computolio article isn't that bad, and the other article isn't bad either, but I still don't understand how a conspiracy theory can be "Monolithic"...

Two weeks ago I ended up in bed with a gay Christian fursuiter.

I can't believe that they don't get that most of you don't really care what they do. From what I see this site mostly makes fun of the attitude they have regarding their lives, they act like they're superior because of a fetish/hobby/obsession. Alot of people do weird things behind closed doors and that's their bussiness, but alot of furries aren't content with that they want everyone else to be in on the experience and that's the annoying part. They can't accept that other people might find it weird.

Happy now? I now have some idea the experience of sharing a hotel room with several guys (including an actual 42 year old never-been-touched virgin), sleeping with one of them, and wondering why the fuck people would subject themselves to that willingly. In short:

Goddamn Finns, taking over our boards, speaking a complicated language, almost beating the Russians, drawing funny pictures of raccoons. 15 noun declension cases? Most languages get by with just Nominative, Genitive, Dative, and Accusative, buddy. I don't think English has more than just three!
