Some of them are the equivalent of dead heads, going to every meet and con all year round but not holding any job and not coming from an obviously wealthy and doting family. Where do they get it? By living the sort of life that Hirtes outlines with his recounting of the condition of Merlino's place among other things (begging family, working just enough hours at a minimum wage job and then getting fired or quitting in a huff; bonus: blog drama fodder).

Will they produce it for this? Not as likely as freely trading art to fap to. Image quality (never mind artistic quality) is not relevant. As long as the resolution is enough to believe it is a horse morph with a six foot dick, that's good enough. Like fapping to Penthouse found in the brush while walking the road. Despite the weather damage, you can almost make out boobs. For furries, the watemark damage equivalent is not enough to stop them from caring.

Of course, there's Sibe and the Sibettes.

I suspect the "KitFox" fellow running the site is the same KitFox who used to be a DALnet IRCop. He is, or at least was, BATSHIT INSANE. Massively paranoid and delusional, used to constantly threaten people claiming he could "make sure they could never use the internet again" if they crossed him, etc. Pretty standard "lol i am leet irc man" fare today, but 10 years ago people didn't know better. I remember all this because for a while we both had the same love interest. I won. Oh, how I wish I hadn't.

This just furthers my belief that furry is so popular because it is the last refuge for the dregs of the socially inept to find someplace to fit in, much like the goth crew in highschool but on a global scale. Much like the goth crews however not all of them are pathetic social retards, but they're all just very nice and accepting peope who will take you in for who you are and not judge a book by it's cover.

Right! Ignore all criticism, because nobody should ever be required to find the faults in their work and improve! Your own mediocre-at-best first attempts should be able to stand on their own as shining examples of literary quality. Proper spelling of words like "writers" and "exists" is just a stunt people pull to make themselves feel superior - we all know what you meant to write.

After all, in the end, it's not the quality of the work that matters, it's the effort that counts. Nobody cares if your work is dog shit and never ever rises above the level of dog shit, so long as you made the effort. Everyone's a winner no matter what - just like in the Special Olympics!
