Hello. This is my first post ever, so I apologize in advance if it sucks :(

In the latest times, media's interest in furry has been growing and growing. There were TV shows such as the MTV documentary and the CSI episode and newspapers talking about Confurence and Anthrocon... But they were mostly based on ugly male perverts. Now we have something pretty different: the Canadian pop singer Miz Kitty. I watched her music video at http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6504256703859541991 and I can't believe my eyes yet

Cat ears, eyes and tail are a certainly odd choice for an otherwise conventional music video. What do you think about it? Does this mean that furries are a big enough marketing target? :?:

Holy shit that is scary. Not the tails and ears, just the overall look of her eyes and video and the gay-ass techno music. If this is really the first "good" media exposure for furries, then I still say all hope on the general public ever seeing them in a different light is lost.

Then again, anything coming out of Canada sucks.

................................................................... OH GOD!

Well I thought the musical CATS was pretty good. But that's only because I was wanking the whole way through it.

Teen dominatrix, huh? Aren't they all dominating at that age? Seems redundant.

Somewhat disturbing look at what some Canadians will manage to do with way too much free time.

Am I the only one unable to find any other mentions of her, anywhere but that video? No official website, or anything?

Vanilla Rin, I found this newspost: http://www.gothic.bc.ca/mail/gbcca.nsf/0/0644CE6E1527E35088256D22002176EC?OpenDocument

All Hell breaks loose when an evil entertainment conglomerate performs an experiment to transform an innocent talent contestant into the perfect teen pop queen. When the experiment goes awry, "Miz Kitty, Singing Teenage Dominatrix" is born. Upset by her new incarnation as feline cyber sexpot, Miz Kitty takes revenge on her capitalist creators by seizing their company, and transforming it into her own deviant media empire: Kittyporn Enterprises. On Wednesday, April 2nd, at the Purple Onion Cabaret, (Vancouver, BC) check out the craziest, sexiest multi-media porno pop musical, "Miz Kitty's Cabaret", a special fundraiser performance for the UBC Brave New Play Rites Festival. Early show starts at 8:30pm, and the late show starts at 11:30pm, $10 at the door, $7 if dressed in fetish or fantasy wear.

It's not very understandable, but at least it proves that Miz Kitty isn't a hoax... And the "fetish or fantasy wear" thing adds more points to the furry innuendos, too.

It's fairly straightforward: The video's neither a hoax nor a "real" music video, it's an advertisement for some sort of theatrical performance with a "fetish"-themed story held at The Purple Onion Cabaret, a Vancouver night club. The performance raised funds for the University of British Columbia's Brave New Play Rites festival that was held in April some two weeks after "Miz Kitty's Cabaret". The festival's part of UBC's creative writing program.

It's got nothing to do with furry... After all, while the fetish scene is no stranger to "animal" imagery (and thus it pops up in this piece of theatre), people in the fetish scene have social graces and don't push their lifestyle in other people's faces... unlike furry fetishists.

Its just a bimbo lip synching her own music.
Shes got cat eye contact lenses, &
kitty ear headband and a skank tail.

I saw the video, and say the person that released
it for her should be pushed out of a speeding cab.

AND what the fuck is with the smoking bump-in-go robot?!?

She's a butterface. I give her 6/10 for that, but knock off another 3 points for the piss-poor attempt at being a catgirl.

And I didn't think the music was that much worse than Aphex Twin, but then I hate Aphex Twin.

 To each his/her own...

The difference between this catgirl shit and Richard D. James though is that he wrestles unimaginable sounds from shit equipment, going as far as programming his own sound software, instead of using pre-canned techno loops and samples like 95% of DJ or techno producers I have heard.

I actually laughed. Looks like a spoof of 80's music videos. Not quite as good as the lovely "Elektronik Supersonik" spoof, though. :P

Prepare for off blast!

Don't get me wrong, I love EDM, but Aphex just sounds... annoying to me. I've tried his stuff, given it a fair go, but it's just kind of discordant to my ear.

Hmmm... but does it really count as furry? Ever since "Josie and the Pussycats" (but probably before that too) there have been singing girls wearing cat ears and tails. The theme strikes me as pretty mundane, actually.

Meh. I'd comment more about the video itself, but I don't want to waste the afternoon downloading the vid on my dialup connection.

Nope. Not anymore than the Playboy bunnies do.

I've researched the topic for furry clues about the playboy bunnies many times. Guess I have to keep looking.
