I'm an artist who does furre when I have spare time, why? it makes money, it's in demand, crazy fans are screaming for it and you can get more commissions by doing various styles and having wide ranges. Let's face it, I've never had someone email me and ask me to do an oil painting for them and I don't think I ever will. It's just "draw furre plzzzzz!"

Does this make me a furre, just drawing it in my sketchbook every so often aside from my dominate fineart side? I did make a site to showcase all the 'furre' stuff complete with an FAQ to make it clear that I just draw it and that I won't draw certain things (bondage, scat, child porn, whatever else these people are thinking up) and it gives a list of prices.

After reading the site I agreed with a lot of points (such as the things about how bad the cons are)

Though I do not feel discouraged, I do not feel I'm part of the fandom, I don't have the "Furre pride!" I just draw it and make money off of it, so, am I a furre?

Note: I did read the other topic but I had gone a step further and made a site to show off the work I do to pull in more attention (i.e. get more commissions)

Doing the art to make money is quite a bit different than doing it to fill your own fetish. I might be off base, but I'm pretty sure Caddell is an artist who obviously started in Anime, and went to furry when he saw there was money in it.

There are also different levels of furry; wether you enjoy it and find it cute, or just do it for cash. Without seeing your work, I hasten to qualify you as any of the above.

I personally don't do it for the money, I just like to develop complex characters and make some pseudo comicy (talking heads for the dialogue) stories involving them.

Dear Guest, please give yourself a funky handle so we can tell you apart from all the other anonymous folk. You don't need to give an email if you want to register BTW.

Sure thing, I'll register later tonight, a few other guests are confusing me as well. Thanks for the feedback, I do have one character that I've created to be complex since some guy drug me into a tabletop RP once and I created her. But otherwise I draw furre for money, there is money in it even if it isn't 2000$ a month it's still money to get supplies with, when your markers are 300$ a pack with shipping from importing them you tend to draw almost and I stress ALMOST anything. I draw the line at that nasty scat and dismemberment crap. If someone asks me to draw them something so they can jack off to it I do not mind since I'll only see the finished picture once before I give it away. Though I think I drew a few sexually suggestive pieces as samples when I started out and I make new ones every so often to advertize. Don't get me wrong though, I don't -hate- drawing furres because I love drawing in general.

I'll think of a handle later and register.
