i read on A.F.F. taht SAKAI is supposed to be a guest at anthrocon next year, so it might actually turn out to be cool ...and i think having him - provided that by this time next year he'll still be scheduled - they probably have even more people than this year

and since i can get to philly in 5 hours if i speed ...

who knows, maybe ill end up going and id wear something like that ...i dont care...even if it does predict what will probably happen to me for wearing it :

crushed by angry fat furries,
carcass yiffed and desecrated

not really how i wanna go out but...oh well

If I had the sheckles to spare,I'd get 3( my wife,daughter.me..my son could care less) maybe have the logo silk screened over a kevlar flack jacket.( I love to hose off the easily irritated "phurries",it's a dangerous hobby ,I know, like non rope repelling or high alt parachuting..but worth it)anything to expose the self righteous nits for what they are!(Jerry)

I don't think wearing a CYD shirt would lead to actual violence, or even Harsh Words, but it'd be bound to spark some interesting comments(!) I'm more likely to produce some (bumper or window) stickers, though, on account of it being a lot cheaper. Here's some possible layouts:

If anyone wants the graphics for these or the shirt to make their own, drop me an email. All I ask is that you send me one!

I dunno.... I never really envisioned this site spawning CafePress type merchandise. I'd never want to wear a T-shirt that has the werd "yiff" on it- even in complete and utter jest and it's the name of this site and I came up with it.

It's really the articles that I take pride in-more than anything else. Perhaps a better T-shirt idea would be a design that contains mini-dossiers of the most entertainingly insane furries we've featured here.

Sorry to be a spoilsport.

ill have to agree with computolio that merchandising always adds a certain degree of...uh lameness, but

at any rate i liked the 2nd sticker design (the one thats used on the front page)

(and ive always liked the font you guys used for the word "yiff" ever since i came here, its just really cool)

i think the main thing is most people (an overwhelming majority) wouldnt even knwo what yiff means, theyd say stuff "wtf is that shirt supposed to mean ??" i think id have to tell them that yiff is the sound my blade makes as it disembowels a human (courtesy of PISOC)

either that or laugh at the swirl of confusion and horror that spreads across thier faces as i tell them that 2 cartoon animals or people in animal mascot costumes fucking -is what "yiffing" is

i think overall - wearing a crush yiff destroy t-shirt would cause an extreme amount of confusion and id be answering questions all day
i know alot of people in the real world and online, and i seriously cannot think of any of them that know what furries or any of this shit is

btw- crush...yiff...DESTROY! is a pretty cryptic name in an of itself....i had absolutely no clue what this place was when i clicked a link from AFF

Mouse:I know what you mean(speaking for myself,if anything a cartoonist hates worse than a crooked publisher,it's got to be explaining a joke)the stickers might do well(good graphics)but as to the t-shirts themselves, print a limited run(number them too if you wish)that way if folks want more, print more,if they don't do well, you won't lose as much money as you would have with a bigger run.Just a thought...though the suckers are cool looking!and it would still piss off the "PHURRIES"*snicker*guffaw*chortle*....ahem,sorry about that..sometimes I'm a bigger smart-ass than I should be.peace to all here(Jerry)p.s. awww, what the hell..GO FOR IT MITCH!!!worse comes to worse, you can always say:"Crush,yiff,destroy?..OH!...Don't you know?Theyr'e a THRASH-METAL(or Ska,orPunk)band from New Zealand!Man!theyr'e AWSOME!!!!my cousin has their latest c.d.!"...an so on..as my friend Richard Gurley has said many a time"What the mundanes don't know won't hurt them OR YOU!"(Jer)

Have you tried submitting these designs to www.cafepress.com, and letting the fun happen?

Heh heh. CYD thongs.

BTW folks, Jer's computer is kaputski for a while (dead power supply), so he wanted me to tell everyone that he didn't get abducted by aliens or got shot by an enraged Brian O'Connell. He's just offline until he can get his comp working again (or someone can donate another PC to him. Hint hint).

hirtes, is this somethign jerrys gonna be able to fix by himself or not ? if its just a power supply and he cant buy one, i can probably find one

so if he seriously needs help here, i can probably scrounge up the parts he'll need. i got all kinds of surplus stuff, i MAY even be able to get a whole computer (i work at a bank) but that would be a pain to ship to him

That t-shirt goes perfect with a pair of khaki (or camo) cargo pants and a opened military shirt.

Furries may not yet be at the point of face to face unarmed violence yet, but they are just fucked enough to slash your tires or similar if they found this on your vehicle. It could draw just such an event. Of course, I'd put cheap-ass tires on my ride and a remote transmitting webcam with a wide angle lens in just to catch and then publicly nail the offenders. Sort of like baiting a trap...

I just wanted to add - if anyone wants to make up a CYD T-shirt themselves - email me and I'll send you a PDF of the artwork; it's vector art so it'll print to any size without degradation.

Hey, on condition that you post a photo of yourself in the shirt, of course!

*Laughs maniacally*

I know I would, if I could.

Sorta sucks I'm replying to 6 month old threads, but this is just too Precioussssss.

As for what not to wear...

I can think of several things.

For instance, I had the thought (for an anime con) of showing up in a sailor suit. With a sign around my neck saying: Do I look foolish? Learn from my example Phanboiz.

What I do to try to make the world a better place (I will never wear a fursuit to make a point. My example is the limit)... >.<

Well, given the way they reacted to a SomethingAwful shirt, this can result in nothing but comedy.

I'd wear it in an attempt to confuse 'normal' people; I most definitely would wear it to a con if I were to muster enough constitution to go to one. The reaction I would expect from Anthrocon would go with being chased out by an angry mob of lardos followed by them swarming my car forcing me to sign a contract of some sort... wait a minute...
If they were made available I'd probably pick one up.

The same deal goes. if I can get a good copy of the pic from Donny again, I can order them. I still need a minimum for silkscreen, but can do the generic glossy-over on white for about $20, maybe a bit less as I have 15% off my next order from them.

Well? Anyone want them?

Due to the flakiness of furries, and ex-furries, I'll demand payment before I even get them printed (Sorry, the only one of you I actually know is Donotsue... and Computholio to some degree).

I can get Single-Side (front) white Ts for about $16 right now due to a special, 100% cotton, almost any size (2XL and over have a +$4/ea premium, however).

Cheapies:
Base Price: $11 (on special)
100% Cotton: +$3
Fat bastard Tax: +$4

If we want NICE shirts, I need a minimum order of 12. That's total. If we can get 12 or more, I can get Screen Printed Ts in White, Red, Black, Purple, Light Blue, and Navy Blue (100% cotton costs more, and lacks light blue). These will cost probably about $20 ea, with the same premium for larger sizes.

If anyone wants one, better speak up, before the 15% discount is gone - This is the price COUPLED with my existing 15% discount, however, so whenver I use my coupon, or the sale's over - it's going to cost more.

Expensive Shirts (NEED a dozen or more!):
Base Price: $12
100% Cotton: $+4
Fat Bastard Tax: $4

These are still one-sided. There will probably be ~$5 or so more if we want both sides. Haven't bothered to spec that, yet.

I know this is an old topic, but have we ever gotten finalization on a possible shirt deal or a way for lowly new members to order one.

I live driving distance from Philly, and would be that much more tempted to attend their 'family friendly' function if the shirt were a possibility.

(Then again, your average furry doesn't know what CYD is, and seeing the word 'yiff' in the title, might never give it a second thought.)

That reminds me that someone gave me a Dragon Ball Z shirt for Christmas a while back. It's nice and all, but it's been packed away up in my closet for a few years now, still brand new. I don't think I'll ever be wearing anywhere.

The second-to-last con I ever attended, I showed up with a John Deere t-shirt when I arrived... MISTAKE.

It's very common when you meet furries at cons for them to not make eye contact, instead look directly at your badge and shirt, and then start shouting out whatever they see. Thus, until I changed my shirt, I had quite a few tards screeching "JOHN DEERE!" as I walked past.

The reason for me wearing the shirt is actually my midwestern redneck/farmboy heritage and nothing more. I completely forgot that they were probably turned on by the oh-sexy corporate logo of a tractor manufacturer.

Hint: If you want truckstop waitresses to hit on you, this shirt also works well. :)

No. Every fat rucker wants it in black rather than white, and I'd need to order at least 12 to get black T's. I am not willing to put that 'up front' on the idea that you freaks might buy them. Sorry, I'm broke. If everyoen commits to it AND SENDS MONEY, then I'll make the shirts. Not until then.

Because we're all badasses.

You should work something out where you make an investment to buy them in bulk, then let them sell over time as a regular item offered on the front page (no one's going to buy them hidden away in this one little thread in a less-viewed corner of the forums). It could popular, and be the beginning of a whole line of CYDwear and paraphernalia! Like, you know.. CYD coffee mugs and stuff.

I take it Donny would get a cut of the revenue since he drew the art for it?

Actually, I'd prefer white. A black T and white logo is a wee bit too SomethingAwfulesque.

Is everybody too goth to wear colors that aren't at least as dark as their soul?

Has anyone ever though that the goths might be related to those aliens from the Hitchhiker's Guide whose poetry was horrid enough to make a man scream in pain?

Profit? There's no goddamned room for profit. This would be done by CYDE, for CYD. Only if Mitch condoned it would it be offered outside of the clique. When not in bulk, they cost about $20/ea, and that doesn't include shipping - now you know why I'm not willing to bite the dick bullet on this.
